Flowers.  Bright blue, pale blue sometimes white. Errect bells in tight terminal clusters, sometimes with a few flowers below.

Flowering period.  June - Aug.

Habitat.    Woodland margins, hedgerows, roadsides, wasteland, meadows. Mainly calcareous soils.
